The most common causes include poor alignment between the engine and gearbox, contaminated or degraded gearbox oil, worn bearings, damaged gear teeth and clutch plate wear. Vibration from engine mounting issues can also accelerate gearbox deterioration, which is why we recommend coupling vibration analysis with any gearbox inspection.
A standard gearbox overhaul typically takes 2-3 weeks depending on the unit size, parts availability and extent of wear. Emergency repairs are prioritised with faster turnaround.
Yes. Our field service team regularly carries out gearbox diagnostics and on-site transmission repairs at Jebel Ali Port, Port Rashid and other Dubai anchorages.
Yes. Our initial diagnostics include on-board vibration analysis, oil sample testing and thermal imaging. In many cases, this identifies whether the issue is gearbox-related or caused by alignment, mounting or coupling faults, avoiding unnecessary strip-down.
