A single wiring harness with Deutsch multi pin connectors links each electronic helm to a central power unit, removing the hydraulic hoses and oil that a conventional system needs at every helm position. Installation and commissioning take a fraction of the time a hydraulic run needs, since there is no hose routing or bleeding involved. The system delivers four turns lock to lock at roughly one second per revolution, with a positive lock at hard over and emergency backup options built in. ECS suits vessels from 40 feet upward, scaling beyond 100 feet, and boat builders increasingly specify it as standard equipment.
